The Difference Between Victims And Superstars

A lot of members of the majority are busy being busy. When you ask them, “Are you clear on your deliverables? Are you clear on your HVTs, your high value targets? Are you clear on your top five values for the coming year?” They haven’t spent a lot of time on it. You see, victims are reactive. Leaders and superstars are incredibly intentional and incredibly deliberate. They’re very thoughtful.

The second point I want to offer to you is really, minimalism beats maximalism every day of the week. Minimalism beats maximalism every day of the week. If you look at Edison, or an Einstein, or a Federer, or Serena Williams, or a JK Rowling, or an Elon Musk, you see the best of the best understand you want to do just a few things really, really well.

Be a minimalist, not only in your work, but in terms of the projects that you accept, in terms of the way you live your life. Even at home, do a few things really, really well. Maximalism or filling your life with distractions and complexity and trivialities means that you’re going to dilute your focus. You’re going to dilute your energy. You’re going to dilute your talent. You’re not going to be very good at anything.
