Be in the company of giants. And this is the law of insanely great talent, be in the company of giants. And what I’m suggesting to you is if you truly want an A-level company, you must populate it with A-level players. Another way to put it is you can’t have a great company with good or average people. Bill Gates said it really well, he said, “The sweet spot or the talent of Microsoft isn’t software. It’s hiring.”And so if you look at the best companies in the world, and Apple’s a great example of this, Apple is populated by brilliant people. Steve Jobs still was involved even at that level where he was leading the company, he was still involved with hiring as much as he humanly could, because he understood that you can’t have a world-class company without having world-class talent. So my point is be in the company of giants, build a company of A-players, and they will deliver A-level performance to all of your partners, stakeholders, customers, suppliers.
