How to Create a “Transition-Zone” Between Your Work Day and Your Evening [For Real-Life Balance]

Morning exercise is a life revolutionizer. It totally is. Let’s get up at 5AM and do that intense exercise for 20 minutes. The rest of your day will be fundamentally different. Every remaining hour will be infused with much more bravery, and vitality, and mastery. So exercise really is a game-changer. So here’s the key. Why would you only do it once a day? So don’t just work out three times a week, don’t work out once a week. Don’t even work out just once a day. Install a second wind workout. So it’s 4AM, or 5AM or 6AM, or 7AM. You finished your workday. You’re creating a transition zone. Key idea between the end of your work day and your private life. So the larger point is simply this. You’re going to create a transition zone. So when you finish work, you do a Second-Wind Workout, what do I call it a Second-Wind Workout? It’s like the sprinter. You go for a very fast wind sprint, you get a second wind, you feel stronger. And so by doing 60 minutes, or even 45 minutes, or you do a yoga class at the end of your workday, or you go for a swim, or you do a spinning class, or you do calisthenics. Just figure out what’s going to make you happy, what’s going to work for your lifestyle. The larger point is, do a second workout for 60 minutes a day. That’s your transition zone. What happens? You have an amazing evening. Your focus will increase. You’ll feel much less stress, so you’ll be better with your loved ones, better with yourself. You’ve released interior chemicals that will actually cut down your cravings. Just by exercising you’re going to have more focus, more energy, more happiness, and more willpower to go through your evening so that you wake up strong. And if you have a great evening and you sleep well, then obviously you’re going to wake up at 5AM and you’re going to hit the ground running. And then you’re going to nail The 20-20-20 Formula. And you see how this becomes this amazing cycle of each day? And if you just get each day right, then the days are going to slip into weeks. The weeks are going to slip into months. The months are going to slip into years. You get to the end of your life and you’re going to say, I lived a really amazing life.
