Keep promises you make to yourself. One of the ways we don’t have any power, one of the ways we don’t have self-love, one of the ways or the reasons we don’t have any energy, one of the reasons we’re not living heroic lives is because, for many of us, if not most of us, the journey of our lives has been a string of promises broken, not only to others but to ourselves. We say we’re going to join The 5AM Club, and after a few days, we give up. We make a promise to ourselves, that we’re going to spend more time with our family and less time in front of technology. We make a promise to ourselves that we’re going to work on our Mindsets, and then next month is going to be the month of Heartset, and then the month after that, we’re going to spend most or a lot of our practice time on health set. And then the month after that, we’re going to really focus on our soul set. We make all these promises about our routines and our rituals and who will we want to become and the high-value target we want to create, and at the first hedge or barrier of discomfort or fear, we give up. Do you know what that does to a human being? Do you know what it does to you and your faith in yourself? Do you know what it does to your heart when you’re on fire to do something great, and then you hit some roadblock and you give up? And so I simply leave you with the idea which is to keep the promises you make to others, and even more importantly, keep every promise that you make to yourself. That is one of the great keys to a world-class life, and this is how you re-access the natural hero that lives at your core.
