The Fundamental Difference Between a History-Maker and an Average Producer

While the victim or average performer is doing what’s easy, the historymaker is pursuing what’s dangerous. If you want to change the game, if you want to make your mark on the world, if you want to bring on your potential, if you want to have massive impact on your industry and live a life you adore, make the decision today to stop doing what’s easy, and pursue what’s dangerous. What’s difficult.

The root of the word passion, is suffer. Picasso, Rembrandt, Federer, Messi, Zuckerberg, Musk, Jobs, Wozniak, Einstein, Rockefeller, Addison, Mother Teresa, all of the great ones, they suffered for their craft. They suffered for their mastery. They suffered for their learning. Look at any great athlete. Look at any great boxer. Look at Bruce Lee. He had something called the one-inch punch. He could put his fist one inch away from your chest and boom, and knock you back 15 or 20 feet. Okay?

He had to suffer through practices. Muhammad Ali said it well. He said, “I hated every single one of my practices. I hated the runs. I hated getting up early. But I love the idea of being heavyweight champion of the world.”
